Blakroc

In what seems to be trying times in my life, I can always turn to hip-hop to help me get through it. Here's something that's pretty interesting which just dropped a few days ago. I have yet to give it a listen but I will be doing this very soon.

Edit:

This song is amazing.

BET Hip Hop Awards Cyphers

So I didn't actually watch this this year? Why is that? I actually watched it last year just for the hell of it, and I didn't know they had cyphers in it, which was actually the best part, so here's the cyphers from the 2008 and 2009 Hip Hop Awards via Youtube.

Moscot: A Pioneer In Eyeware

Moscot is actually the first brand that got me into actually thinking about these things that I have been wearing on my face since I was in the first grade. I've recently thought about getting a new pair of glasses as well for a few reasons. Though I think that getting my first pair (Hesh's) was a good idea since I really do like them, but I went about it in a very half-assed manner. I didn't get them very well fitted, and as a result, the temple length is too big and thats why they always seem to be falling from my face. Because of this I was thinking about getting another pair from a different designer, (Shuron being my second choice after Moscot) but I think Instead I'll just go the distance and make sure my next pair will be exactly what I want, something that will fit me well, both physically and my style. The reason I actually got to thinking about this again was also because I stumbled on a video about Moscot on Hypebeast that was done by Complex Magazine and I think it's great that this brand is getting some spotlight that it deserves.

(Sorry for such a half-assed and rushed post. I'll be sure to do a more extensive update on eyeware once I finally make a decision on what I get next.)

The Tao of Wu

As you may have already figured out from previous blog posts, I am a pretty big Wu Tang fan. OB4CL pt 1 and 2, Liquid Swords, 36 Chambers, and Supreme Clientele are some of my favorite albums, so its no wonder I'm waiting to check out this book. Although I should have ordered or gotten my copy already, I'm putting off reading this book until after my Biology Exam Friday, because I'm pretty sure I won't be able to put it down. What I'm talking about is RZA's latest book, The Tao of Wu.

Here's a video that was on The Colbert Report featuring the RZA via Worldstarhiphop.com

Hopefully I'll be getting into this book by next weekend.

October 8th, 2009: APC update

So I've washed these around August, so I'm updating with pictures of how they're coming along.
I've had them for around 14.5 months, first soak around a year, but recently I got caught in them in a torrential downpour and they were completely soaked, I guess that could count as another soak.

Theyre starting to look a lot more like I wanted them to be, so that's pretty cool. The upper leg has a bit of fading and it looks great contrasting with the rest of the darker indigo.

You never know what you'll find

So Saturday I decided to hit my friend David up and go to the city, randomly. Luckily for me, there was a blockwide sale on just a bunch of used stuff from a store on the block (sorry the name of the store is slippin my mind, it might come to me later). Anyways I started collecting records after getting my first one at a thrift store, and at this block it was 5 records for 1 dollar! How crazy is that? Also if the record was a set of records (ex: The Firm album I got was 4 records) counted as one, so that was def cool.

Theres some Biggie, Jay, Nas, Q-tip, Mobb deep, etc in there.

Also at Uniqlo I was able to take a few things off my hitlist, a blue oxford and a brown scarf. Luckily they have a few other items I need so I'll have to pay them a visit in the near future.

David and I stumbled upon the store (Miz Mooz lolll) on Broadway, so I went back and got some Sand Wallabee's I've been wanting for a while for 50 bucks! Pretty good price considering the retail is 120 on them.

We ended the day in Flushing, meeting my friend Edgar and getting some Left 4 Dead in. This was HILARIOUS when I walked into a bathroom in the Dead Air level, and moved my flashlight over the urinal, to see a dead zombies head in the toilet. Sounds like Julian was gettin some partying in before the infection.

(And yes I stopped playing during an incoming attack just to take this picture)

Anyways that's it for now. Hope all is well with everyone. Piece and Love.
